Be it known that ROBERT H. This invention consists of a (luster, such as is used in ordinary household work, formed of sheeps wool, instead of tbe-usual materials, such as feathers, worsted, thread, 85o., which are much more costly.

In order toeffect this, we use a. handle, A, composed of wood orl'other suitable material for the purpose, and having its front end, B, of suicent circumference and sectional surface to allow a number of wires, a a a et, tiene., to be set in. These Wires-'sare curved so as to resemble in shape the steuis of featherssand are indicated in thedmwings by the dotted lines. In order to attach the woollyr fibre to these, we cut a number of strips from an ordinary sheep-skin with the .wool on, and stitch them up so as to form long narrow lbags, with the wool on -the outside. These are passed over the lwires, being open at one end,land conform to the shupe of the wires, :raking a plume,which,"'when dyed in tasteful colors, presents a. neat und ornamental appearance. ` The advantages of' this device, as heretofore sta-ted, are, its comparative cheapness, and also durability 'and convenience of mnnufucture,it in no wey falling behind other devices ofthe sort in tastefulncss ofuppearance.
