Description

ORIGIN OF THE VARIETY
The present variety was originated by us in the experimental orchard located at Modesto, Calif., as a selected seedling from a large group of seedlings obtained from open pollinated Amparo Peach (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,472) seeds. The seedlings were planted and grown under careful and continual observation by us, during which time we recognized its distinct and desirable characteristics described above and selected the variety for reproduction and commercialization.
ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION OF THE VARIETY
Asexual reproduction of the new and distinct variety of peach tree was preformed by budding in the experimental orchard located at Modesto, Calif., shows that said characteristics run true to form and are established and transmitted through succeeding propagations.
SUMMARY OF THE VARIETY
The present variety relates to a new and distinct variety of peach tree which is of large size, vigorous, upright growth, and a regular and heavy producer of large, yellow flesh, clingstone fruit with good eating and shipping quality. The fruit is further characterized by having a high degree of attractive red skin color and having very firm flesh which allows the fruit to be harvest at near tree ripe maturity and still maintain good shipping and storage quality. The present variety of peach tree when compared to its seed parent, Amparo Peach (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,472) matures approximately 17 days earlier under similar cultural and climatic conditions.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS
The accompanying photographs show reproductions in color of typical specimens of the foliage and fruit of the present variety, with the upper and lower surface of the leaves being illustrated and specimens of the fruit showing exterior skin color with one fruit being divided in the suture plane to show flesh color with the stone remaining in place.
DESCRIPTION OF THE VARIETY
