HENRY L REED, OF TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIG NOR TO REED BARTON, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR TEA-SET.
Specification forming part of Design No. 7,410, dated April 28, 1&74; application filed March 31, 1574.
[Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY G. REED, of Taunton, in the county of Bristol and State of hilassachusetts, have invented a Design for Tea-Set, of which the following is a specification The invention relates to tea-sets; and consists in new features of design in the borderin g, outline, and configuration thereof, as here inafter fully described, and indicated in the claims.
The drawing is a side elevation.
A represents the body of the tea-pot, which is made in the shape of an egg, truncated at both ends, and surmounted by a cylindrical neck, 15. Passing around the body is a diagonal band, a, which may be ornamented or plain, as may be desired. The neck B has a circumjacent border, consisting of the upper ring b, lower ring I), and the intermediate panelings b In the latter are located antique figures, placed in an erect position, and varied in appearance. 0 are the supporting-legs, diverging outwardly, having quadrangular feet, and bordered upon the outside by relief figures of birds standing erect, and with the tips of their bills rcstin g upon the plumage of the breast. D is the spout, provided with a super posed ornamental projection, 11. E is the cover, having thereon a disk, 0, supporting a raised ornamentation, c, and 1 is the handle, pro vided with the elevated thumb-piece f, inclined on a concave line toward the top or cover.
\Vhat I claim as my design is- 1. The combination of oval body A and neck, spaced by top and bottom heads or ribs 0 b to form a new design in tea-sets.
The neck of a tea-pot or other article of tea-set, provided with rings 1) I), and intermediate panelin gs containing representations of human figures, as shown and dc scribed.
23. The handle, provided with raised thumbpiece, as shown and described.
4. The legs, having rectangular ibet,witherect birds arranged on the outside thereof to form a new design in border for the lower portion of tea-sets.
5. The cover, provided with tip, as shown and described.
