Design No. 4,385, dated October 4, 1870.
DESIGN FOR A PLATE FOR PlTCHER-STANDS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same 'lo all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HUGO O. FRITSUU, oi the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new Design for Plates, to he used as Pitcher-stands and for other purposes; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, and in which Figure 1 is a top or face view of the plate, and
Figure 2, a central transverse section, showing the profile thereof.

which is of flat or plain contour. The outer ends of these flutes are of rounded shape.
The under edges 0 of said flutes lie in the same plane with each other, and with the center portion ll on the bottom of the plate, also with a surrounding base-portion, (I, to form a steady bcaring-surfitcc for the plate. This base-portion (Z is made to present an annular flat depression on the face of the plate, closely surrounding the outer ends of the flutes, and is connected at its outer edge with a rim, 0, which rises in straight lines, or vertically, from said outer base-portion d, and is curled or turned over in a rounded munuer, and in an outwardly direction, as shown.
I claim as my invention- The design for a plate, as shown and described.
