DESIGN FOR A HEADLIGHT-CASE FOR LOCOMOTIVES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,334, dated March 14, 1899. Application filed June 28,1898. Serial No. 684,696. Term of patent 14 years.
To (all whom it may concern.-
30 it known that I, SIDNEY II. WHEEL- HOUSE, a citizen of the United States, residing at St. Louis, in the State of Missouri, have invented and produced anewand original Design for a Headlight-Case, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a headlight-ease for locomotives.
The leading feature of my design consists in the body of a headlightease formed cylindrical in its general eontour,with its rear end closed, its front end open, and provided with a rim surrounding the said open end. The said cylindrical body is provided with inclined signal-number plates arranged on its sides, as shown in the drawings and as more fully hereinafter described.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View, and Fig. 2 a plan view, of the head lightease.
1 represents the body of the ease, and 2 the front rim, which surrounds the front or open end thereof. Outwardly-projccting walls 4, 5, and (3 form a frame, one of which is located on each side of the cylindrical body I These frames incline outwardly from the front toward the rear of the case, and each of the frames contain a plate 7, adapted to bear signal characters.
The case is provided with a base 8 and a ventilating-dome 9, having a hood ]O,and at one side of the case is a door 1]., hinged at 12 to the back 13 and provided with a handle 14.
llaving thus fully described my invention, I claim- The design for a headlight-ease for locomotives, substantially as herein shown and described.
