DESIGN FOR WIRE-FENCING FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,386, dated December 3, 1901.
Application filed October 15, 1901; Serial No- 78,759. Term of patent 14 years.
To (all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PETTI S A. REID, a citiien of the United States, residing at Richmond, in the county of IVayne and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new, useful, and original Design for Wire-Fencing Fabrics, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
In said drawings,Figu re 1 represents a front elevation of a broken-01f portion or section of a Wire-fencing fabric embodying my new design, and Fig. 2 is a sectional plan view of the same on the line II II of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the said fencing fabric is of the square-mesh type and consists of a suitable number of longitudinal or strand Wires a and vertical or stay wires b, crossing the strand-wires and secured thereto at the points of intersection. The said longitudinal or strand wires have short angular crimps or bends a formed therein at suitable intervals, the crimps of the several wires being arranged one above another between the stays and certain series thereof being utilized as seats to receive the connections for the stays or crosswires'. Said stays have intermediate looped portions coincident with the crimps of the strands and coiled or bent closely about the said crimps, the whole giving the peculiar ornamental appearance shown.
