To all whom it concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM GORMAN, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford, and State oi Oon- `nectiout, have originated and designed a new Design fora. Door-Hinge; and I do hereby delere that the following is e full, clear, and exact description thereof; reference being had to the eeeompanyingdrewings, making :i part of this speciiication.

It is customary, for the purpose of concealing the heads of the screws, to cover the feces of the better class of door-hinges with a plete, aa, shown in section at Figure 2. 'f

The design, herein described, is intended to be employed upon suoli plete, so used to cover the fece of hinge, as seen at Figure l, and a corresponding design is intended to be cest upon the back of the hinge, es seen at Figure 3.

The edge of the plates covering the leaves of the hinge, is surrounded bya, bend, a, which maybe raised, or otherwise, and be plein, or some architectural moulding. The central portion is occupied with a, circular shield, and the remaining space filled with ornamental work, in relief', upon either a plain or matted ground.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
