REED & BARTON, OF
SAME PLACE.
Design No. 3,471, dated May 4, 1869.
DESIGN FOR .A TABLECASTER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all persons to whom these presents 'may come:
Beit known that I, WILLIAM PARKIN, of Taunton, in the county of Bristol, and State of Massachusetts, have invented or produced a new Ornamental Design for a Table-Caster; and do hereby declare the same to be fully represented in the accompanying drawing, and to be thus described, such drawing being a perspective elevation of the caster.
The body of the caster is formed of a series of cups, A, united together, and having a stein, B, extended up from their junction.
This stern terminates in an open ornamental handle, O, which, formed as exhibited, is snrmounted by a bust, D.
Between each cup and those next to it, and so as to project above such, is a lion-headed figure, E.
There also extends from each cup a leg, F, having a clawed foot, a, and being surmounted by a winged sphinx, b.
A knob, G, may also be extended downward from the centre ofthe bottom of each of the cups, the forms of the several parts, or their ornamental characters, being as shown in the accompanying drawing, or photograph.
The lion-head projections are to be considered simply as additions to the design, and not specially necessary thereto, but as contributing to its ornamental effect or appearance.
I claim the ornamental design for a table-caster, as above described, and as represented.
WILLIAM PARKIN.
