UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ABBOTT L. JOHNSON, OF MUNCIE, INDIANA.
DESIGN FOR A RAILWAY BULLETIN-BOARD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,918, dated December 25, 1894.
Applicationfilcd October 23,1894. Serial No. 526,764. Term of patent 14 years.
To aZl whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ABBOTT L. JOHNSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Muncie, in the county of Delaware and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Railway Bulletin- Board, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which shows my design by a view in front elevation.
The leading feature of my design consists in the bulletin-board provided with the ornamental scroll-work on the top.
A is the bulletin-board proper, of rectangular outline and flanked by lateral extensions B,B,in imitation of panels to represent vertical tiers of rectangular compartments at opposite ends of the board.
C is the ornamental scroll-work having its central portion formed in two peripherally contacting approximate circles C and G with scroll-work junctions at q and p and each crossed by diagonal bars '7', inclining in opposite directions in the respective circles. In the cross-bars r of the circular part C is formed the intersecting capital letter N; and in those of the companion -part C is formed the intersecting capital letter B. At the outer sides of the central circular parts of the ornamental top C, they merge into scroll-work C 0 which joins with that proceeding outward from the base-junction p, and is continued obliquely downward to the ends of the bulletin-board.
What I claim is- The design fora railwaybulletin-board substantially as herein shown and described.
ABBOTT L. JOHNSON.
