Be it known that I, WALLAon, DURAND a citizen of the United States, residing at N ewark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and useful Design in W'atchcases; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertaius to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanyin g drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a face view of the watchcase, and Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same, these two views being deemed sufficient to fully illustrate the design.
The leading feature of the design consists in the watchcase, which is round in plan, and approximately flat at the center of the sides, said flat center part being ornamented with a scalesshaped decoration.
In said drawings, a, indicates the round face of the watchcase which is eonvexedly curved at the edges and at the center of the sides approximately flat as indicated in Fig. 2. The flat center part of the side of the case is ornamented by a figure representing a pair of druggists scales, the beam being shown on an incline and the bowls, attached thereto by cords, being apparently loosely thrown in opposite directions. Below this figure is another decorative figure similar in shape to the zodiacal sign for the constellation Libra.
What I claim as new is- The design for a watchcase, herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 27th day of January, 189i.
