DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE-STOPPER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,324, dated April 4, 1893.
Application filed November 8, 1892. Serial No. 451,391. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Beit known that I, JULIUs LIBRoWroz, a citizen of the United States, residing nt New York, county of New York, and State of New York, have invented and produced a. new and original Design for` Bottle Stoppers or Tops, of which the following is a. specification.
Reference is had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this speciication, in which- Fignre l is a front elevation; and Fig. 2, a partial elevation and section through the base on the line m Fig. 1.
The stopper comprises a statue 1, mounted on n base 2, hollow fora portion of its height. The statue is that of a male ligure standing erect on a base or pedestal, the body being thrown slightly over to the left, so as to gravitate upon the left leg. The right leg, with its lower limb thrown back, is bent, resting on the flat of the foot. The limbs are dressed in tights; the chest in an ornamental tight fitting vest having short sleeves, which leave the arms bare from the biceps outward; andfrom the Waist depends a short skirt extending to the thighs. From the shoulders hangs a cloak,
which backs the entire figure. The right arm hangs at the side and is slightly bent, the hand grasping the hilt of a sword which rests on the top of the base. Theleft fore-arm isbent, and extends at almost right angles, and upon the hand and a. portion of the fore-arm rests a globe.i An anchor rests upon the base, and lies adjacent to the lower limb of the left leg. The neckof thestatueis bare,the facebearded, and hair streams down the back of the head to the neck, and the feet are unclothed. The base com prises the circular block 3, the cornice 4, and thepillar or cap 5. The block and cornice are unornamented, while the cap has foliated ornamentation as at 6, and a. series of blocks 7 lying at the union of the block 8 and cap 5.
I claim- The design for a. bottle stopper or top, herein shown and described.
