DESIGN FOR SILVERSMITHS STOCK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,194, dated February 7, 1893.
Application filed June 13, 1892. Serial No. 436,573. Term of patent 14 years.
- a citizen of the United States, residing at Arlington, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for Silversmiths Stock, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, which illustrate the design.
The design relates to a new ornamentation for stock employed in the manufacture of articles of silver and similar ware, which stock consistsof an ornamental band, ribbon or strip to be secured to or upon the article it is designed to ornament.
In the drawings, Figure 1 represents a face view of a section of a stock-strip bearing the design. Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the strip on plane a-a of Fig. 1.
The design is composed of the scallop or shell-like figures A, which are located at equal intervals apart. Overlying each of these scallop figures are the reverse pair-scrolls B B, each of which extends laterally from the seallop below it. Midway between the scallops, and joining the outer ends of the scrolls, are the radiate or knot figures C. These three members of the design are united and the groups thus produced are duplicated at regular intervals to produce a strip or ribbon of design in any desired length or breadth.
What is claimed as new is:
The design for silversmiths stock, substantially as herein shown and described.
