Mom/wa UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY O. PUTNAM, OF SUNFIELD, MICHIGAN, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF T0 STEPHEN W. PERKINS, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A FORK FOR POTATO-DIG GERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,934, dated October 25, 1892.
Application filed August 24, 1892. Serial No. 443,981- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY O. PUTNAM, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Sunfield, Eaton county, in the State of Michigan, have invented a new, useful, and original Design for aFork for Potato-Diggers, of which the following is a specification.
This design relates to forks for that class of potato-diggers which are carried in the hands of the operator; and it consists in the novel external shape and appearance represented by the accompanying drawings and hereinafter described.
Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings represent, respectively, different perspective views of one and the same fork, with its central shank a broken off to omit features which form no part of this design. The shank a merges into a rounded head portion 5, from which a series of main tines project parallel with each other in nearly-straight lines of a flat curve (represented at 0) about two-thirds of their length and thence extend with relativelysharp curves (1 to straight or substantiallystraight ends e,which terminate in fiat rounded extremities f. From the ends of the head portion 2; a pair of horn-shaped end teeth g project, with compound curved lines, downward and away from the main tines.
Having thus described the said design, I claim and desire to patent under this specification- The design for a fork for potato-diggers, substantially as herein shown and described.
H. O. PUTN AM.
