PNFEN'I ()i t ietn DESIGN FOR A PISTOLwGHEEK,
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No 21,822, dated August. 30. 1892) Appliratim: lllwl Apt-ii 9, l t S rial Nfl, 427, 44, Term ei'patnni 14 years T0 all whom, it may eon/corn:
Be it known that l, Josnrn' ll. 'Wnsstw, oi Springfield, in the county of llampden and State of Massachusetts, have invented and. produced a new and original Design For a Cheek-Piece of a Pistol-Grip, of which the fol lowing is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings Forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a view of the outer face of the cheek-piece. Fig. 2 is a rear end view, and Fig. 3 a front end view, of the same.
Viewed in side elevation, as shown in Fi 1, the upper and lower edge lines of the checie piece make an acute angle with the rear edge line and extend from thence to the front end of the cheek piece by easy curves, which slightly approach each other as they near said front end. Immediately adjacent to its front end the upper edge line is deflected to form the pointed projection (L. The front face b of the cheek-piece is curved transversely, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, and within said face is located the sunken or depressed panel a, the upper and lower sides of which conform to the curvature of the upper and lower edges of the cheek-piece and the ends of which are scalloped At or near the cent-er of said panel 1: is the raised diamondshaped figure (l, and the liottoin of said panel surrounding said figurc is occu pied by a series of closely-intersecting indented lines Within the angles formed by the scallops at the ends of said panel are located depressed triangular figures e and f. At the front end of the cheek-piece said Front face 0 terminates in the circular panel 9 and the straight lines h, which join said panel to the upper and lower edge lines. \Vithin said panel q are the letters S W arranged in the form of a monogram; but other letters can be substituted therefor without impairing the unity of the design.
'lhe leading feature of. my design is the pointed projection (tat the front end and upon the upper side of the cheek-piece in connec tion with the outline and ornamentation of the latter, as shown and described.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is---- The design for the cheek-piece of a pistolgrip, substantially as shown and described.
