GRATE BAR. 0
(Application filed Dec. 9, 1898) UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DWIGHT S. RICHARDSON, OF NEW YORK N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A GRATE -BAR.
sfinciri'cA'rxon forming part of Design no. 29,925, dated. January 3, 1899.
Application filed December 9, 1898. Serial No. 698,786. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Beitknown that LDWIGHT S. RICHARDSON, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Grate-Bars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming a part thereof.
In said drawings, Figures 1 and 2 are elevations from difierent points of View of a gratebar embodying my present design. Fig. 3 is a crosssection on the line 00 00. Fig. 4 is a cross-section on the line y y.
Like letters of reference indicate the same parts in all the figures.
The leading or material feature of the present design is the transversely-ribbed surfaces of the triangular grate-bar.
In the drawings, the letter A indicates the concave faces of the grate-bar, which is substantially triangular in cross-section, as indi cated in Figs. 3 and 4. A series of openings B extend transversely through the bar, and between the openings ribs 0 run transversely across the concave faces A. The edges of the bar are scalloped or formed with alternate elevations D and depressions E, the depressions being in line with the transverse ribs 0.
Obviously the design is applicable to gratebars for fuel-burners generally.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a grate-bar herein shown and described.
DWVIGHT S. RICHARDSON.
