DESIGN FOR A CAR-BOLSTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,574, dated May 10, 1898. Applicationfiled March 17, 1898. Serial No. 674,265. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JOHN PLAYER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Topeka, in the county of Shawnee and State of Kansas, have invented and produced a new and useful Design in Oar-Bolsters, reference bein g had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a plan View, partly in section, of a car-bolsterconstructed according to my design; Fig. 2, a side elevation of the same, partly in section; Fig. 3, a transverse sectional view taken on the line 3 of Fig. 2, and Fig. 4. an end View looking at the bolster from the right-hand side of the drawings.
The leading feature of my design consists in a substantially circular or curved body portion cambered at top and bottom and narrowing from the central portion to the end thereof.
In the accompanying drawings, A is the body portion of the bolster, substantially curved or circular in end View, cambered at a and a, and provided with substantially rectangular projecting portions B B, also provided with a circular opening b in the bottom side and the openings b on the side portion thereof, and C is a flat upper portion, the whole presenting to the eye a harmonious and ornate figure, as shown in the accompanying drawings.
I claim- A design for a car-bolster substantially as herein shown and described.
