UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN C. DUEBER, OF CANTON, OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A WATCH-MOVEMENT PLATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,321, dated March 1, 1898.
Application filed September 1, 1897. Serial No- 650,309. Term of patent 7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN C. DUEBER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Canton, county of Stark, State of Ohio, have invented a new and original Design for a Watch-Movement Plate, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specification.
My invention relates to a new design for watch-movement plates; and it consists of a design of the configuration and ornamentation shown in the accompanying drawing, in which I have illustrated my invention in top plan View.
The leading feature of my design consists of the top plate A, the barrel-bridge B, and the balance-cock O, damasked with a series of burnished circles having the appearance of concave grooves or corrugations, the burnished grooves upon the top plate A and barrel-bridge B being made from difierent centers. The burnished grooves upon the top plate and the balance-cock commence at both sides of the top plate at a point below a line drawn through the center thereof and extending from top to bottom. Each succeeding circle is of greater diameter, the circles succeeding each other until they finally meet at a point a short distance below the center of the plate. The upper portion of the top plate between the inner circles is so burnished as to give the appearance of a series of straight concave grooves or corrugations commencing at the top of the plate and terminating in a circular ornamentation thereon. In the center of the upper portion of the top plate there is burnished a twelve-pointed star or rosette and on either side thereof radiating burs. The barrel-bridge is burnished in a similar manner, the center of the circles being located at points upon either side thereof, and they meet at a point below the center of the plate. The upper portion of the barrel-bridge between the inner circles may be burnished in a manner similar to that of the upper portion of the top plate.
What I claim is- The design for a watch-movement plate, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 12th day of August, A D. 1897.
JOHN G. DUEBER. Witnesses:
