DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,817, dated November 9, 1897.
Application filed September 1'7, 1897. Serial No. 662,078. Term of patent '7 years.
To (LZZ whom z' may concern:
Beit known that I, CHARLES C. DARLING, a citizen ofthe United States, residing at Providence, in the State of Rhode Island,have insign for a Badge, Button, 0r Charm, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
The figure represents a View of the front plate of a badge, pin, or charm, showing my new and original design.
Ono of the leading features of my design consists in the representation of a log and a pendent leaf extending downward from the log, with the representation of a bird above the leaf in front of the log.
Another leading feature of my design consists in the representation of a leaf having een trallyarran ged thereon the representation of a globe marked with meridian-lines and parallels of latitude, and having in front of the globe the representation of the stump of a felled tree, with an ax struck in the top of the stump and a cant-hook leaning against the stump at one side, and an oX-yoke at the opposite sido.

B is the representation of a bird, arranged in front of the log A, and preferably shown with a branch C in its bill.
D is the representation of a leaf, extending downward from the log A and having at its central portion the representation of a globe E, provided with the represented meridianlines a and parallels of latitude I). 'lhe representation of the stump F of a felled tree is arranged in front of the lower portion of the globe E, the representation of an ax G being shown as having its blade struck into the top of the stump. A cant-hook II is shown in an inclined position at one side of the stump and an oX-yoke I at the opposite side.
I claim- The design for a badge, button, or charm, substantially as herein shown and described.
