DESIGN FOR A WHlFFLETREE-HOOK.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ALLEN LONG CLARK, a

Y citizen of the United States, residing at Jackson, in the county of Madison and State of Tennessee, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Vhiiiietree Hooks; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

My invention has relation to a design for hooks adapted to be used on Whiffletrees; and it consists in the novel features as hereinafter described.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of the hook. Fig. 2 is an end view of the hook.

The hook consists of the forward portion 1, said portion being bent spirally, as shown in the drawings, the hook being substantially elliptical in its side elevation. of the hook the shoulder 2 is formed on the shank 3. The shank 3 is adapted to pass through a suitable perforation in the tree, and the forward portion 1 is adapted to enter the perforation in the trace or trace-chain.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new,.and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A design for a whiffletree-hook, as shown and described.
