CHARLES SISSON, OF PROVIDENCE, RIIODE ISLAND.
DESIGN FOR A COVER 'FOR DRESS-STAYS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,557, dated August 24, 1897. Application filed June 22, 1897. Serial No. 641,836. Term of patent 14 years.
To ail whom it may concern;-
Be it known that I, CHARLES SIsSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providenee, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Cover for Dress-Stays and Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The drawing is a front view of a dress-stay cover, showing my design.
The leading features of my design consist in the two lines of stitching on each side of the woven cover and the central ornamentation having a series of inclined T- shaped figures, as will be more fully set forth hereinafter.
In the drawing one end portion of the dress stay woven cover is shown so as to illustrate more clearly the design and on a larger scale than would be possible if the whole length were shown.
A indicates a double woven fabric; B 13,
lines of stitching, two of which lines extend on each side parallel to the margin; G, the central ornamentation consisting of a series of T-shaped figures placed diagonal to the general direction of the central ornamentation, one of the bars of the T- shaped figure connecting with a bar of the adjacent figure. The end is ornamented by the extension D, narrower than the width of the cover and having the tapering end E. The circular perforation F is surrounded by an annular margin.
G is the stay inclosed in the cover. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a cover for dress-stays and similar articles herein shown and described. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
CHARLES SISSON.
