DESlGN FOR A SIGN-BOARD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,056, dated May 18, 1897.
Application filed March 16,1897. Serial No. 627,887. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SILAs \VEs'l, a citizen of the United States, residing atllaverhill, in the county of Essex and State of l\lassaehusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Sign-Board, of which the f0llowing is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
I11 the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a face view of a sign-hoarr.l, illustrating my design; and Fig. 2 is a cross-section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
The following are the leading features of my design 1 is the figure of a man attired in a traveling suit and hat, and showing him in perspective, he being turned or faced to one side, so as to show his face in profile. In his left hand he carries the cane :2 and in his right hand he carries the bag The attire and equipment are made to conform to the typical appearance of a drummer or traveling agent.
4 is an approximately square background, representing the ground upon which the figure stands and serving as a firm support for the latter when the sign is erected by itself in a field or other suitable place.
The bag 3 is of the large square type, commonly known as a dress-suit case, and is represented with the large flat side toward the observer, in order to afford space thereon for the advertisement or inscription which the sign is to carry.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a sigxrhoard herein shown and described.
