DESIGN FOR A GRATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,494, dated January 5, 1897.
Application filed October 6, 1896. Serial No. 608,067. Term of patent 14 years.
1'0 all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT S. NEWBY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented a certain new and original Design for Bottom Grates for Heatingfitoves; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and close description thereof.
My invention comprises certain novel and original elements for a design for bottom grates for heating-stoves; and it essentially consists in a rim with grooves therein, a second rim of smaller diameter hung below the first rim, and the two rims united by bars with a circular grate pivoted upon the lower rim, all of which will be fully set out and described in the following specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which form a part hereof.
Figure 1 is a plan View of my design. Fig. 2 is a cross-section through line X X of Fig. 1.
In the drawings the upper rim is represented by A. Near the center of the rim A there is a groove a, formingacomplete circle in the surface of the rim. From the groove Ct there are other grooves, 19, running perpendicular from the groove 64 to the outer edge of the rim A. Below the rim A is another rim, B, which is united to the rim A by bars (1, and upon the rim B rests the grate D. The grate D consists of a ring 6 with bars f, stop g, pivot-pins Q and handle E.
What I claim is-- The design for bottom grates as described and shown in the drawings.
