Be it known that I, SAMUEL Knnnm, of the city and county of San Francisco, State of California, have originated and designed a new pattern for "Mouldings" for cornices to buildings, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying photographf making a part of this specification.

My designconsists of a moulding to be planted in the cove of cornices, for the decoration of buildings, and is composed of plaster of Paris, so-called, prepared in the usual way.

The foundation of my design is scroll-work, of the pattern-shown. I place in the curves along this scroll the following collections of figures, viz, A, B, C, D, alternately, as shown in the print.

Figure A is composed of a black radish, an almond, a nutmeg melon, a pear :nd leaves, and a bunch of re es. g Figure B, a pear, apple, lemon, a plum, nut, and a bunch of grapes.

Figures 0 and D consist of a bunch containing three daisies and their leaves.

I prefer to cast the figures in gelstine moulds, as a higher relief is imparted to my design by this manner of casting.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The design for mouldings for buildings, as shown and described.
