DESIGN FOR AN ADVERTISING-SIGN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,448, dated April 28, 1896.
Application filed March 2, 1896. Serial No. 581,593. Term of patent 3} years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANK B. HART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lafayette, in the county of Tippecanoe and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Advertising- Sign; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appert-ains to make and use the same.
In the accompanying drawings, which represent a sign embodying my design, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a sign having my design displayed thereon, and Fig. 2 is a section taken on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1 and looking to the right in said figure.
My design consists, essentially, of the representation of a man dressed in bicycle racingcostume, hareheaded, and wearing a sleeveless shirt, short trousers, long stockings, and bicycle-shoes, seated upon a safetybicycle in the attitude of propelling the same, the figures of the man and bicycle being displayed upon a background of netting, and the port ions of the wheels incloscd within the rims thereof being represented as plain flat surfaces.
In Fig. 1, A represents the netting forming the background of the sign, B represents the figure of the man, and C represents the bi cycle.
The figure of the man and bicycle are displayed fiat upon both sides of the netting ol the sign, as seen in the sectional view, Fig. 3.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for an advertising-sign, substantially as herein shown and described.
