PATENT OFFICE DESIGN FOR AN AIRPLANE Application September 13, 1939, Serial No. 87,192

Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, Clarence L. Johnson and Ward W. Beman, citizens of the United States, residing at Burbank, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for an Airplane, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 of the drawings is a perspective View of an airplane embodying the new design as it would appear from a point off to the side and slightly forward and above the airplane while the latter would be in flight with its main and nose landing wheels retracted;

Figure 2 is a top or plan View of the airplane; Figure 3 is a front elevation of the airplane with its main and nose landing wheels retracted as it would appear in flight.

Figure 4 is a side elevation of the airplane as it would. appear in landing position.

We claim: The ornamental design for an airplane, substantially as shown.
