DESIGN FOR A THIMBLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,750, dated April 1, 1890. Application filed February 13, 1890. i Serial No. 340,867. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY A. WEIHMAN, of the city and county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for Thimbles, of which the following is a specification.

My invention has reference ro a new design for Thimbles, which design is fully set ont in the following specification and shown in the accompanying drawings, which form a part thereof.

My design has particular reference to the ornamentation given to the lower or rim portion of the thirnble, which will be best understood by examining the accompanying illustration, in which- Fignre 1 is an elevation of a thiuible ernbodying my new design, and Fig. 2 is a plan View ofthe surface of the thimble'laid out fiat.

A is the lower 0r rim portion, upon which is placed my new ornamentation. B is the upper cylindrical Walls having the indented work, and C is the top or crown of the thimble.

F isan annular groove about the thixnble, between the parts A and B; but this is unimportant to the design. The part A is chased or embossed with the design shown, which is composed, essentially, of the name-plate or escutcheon D and the scenic effect E, consisting of houses, a river, a bridge, trees, and distant mountains, substantially as shown.

Having now described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The new design for thirnbles, substantially as herein described and shown.
