DESIGN FOR A CLOCK-CASE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD C. STODDARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Plymouth, in the county of Litchfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Clock- (Jasc, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, forming part thereof.
My design for a clock-case consists in a cross having a step-like base, with the clockdial on the face of said base. This constitutes the leading feature of the design. The incidental features are certain ornamental figures upon the face of the cross and its base.
A designates the cross, the upright portion of which is ornamented on its face by scrolllike figures b, and the horizontal portion of which is ornamented on its face by letters of the alphabet which simulate an inscription.
B designates the base, which has a step-like configuration, ornamented on its face by figures c c, simulating numerals, star-like ornaments (1 d, triangularshaped ornaments '0 v, with figures simulating the letters I. II. S between them, a central flower-like ornament f on its lower portion, flanked by reversely-inclining block-like ornaments g, and a panellike figure 7L on its upper portion, on which appears the dial ll of the clock, 2? i designab ing the clock-hands.
The design for a clock-case herein shown and described, the same consisting in the representation of a cross having a base of steplike configuration, with the clock-dial on the face of said base.
