DESIGN FOR THE SURFACE ORNAMENTATION 0F GLOVE-BUTTONS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,175, dated June 25, 1889. Application filed April 19, 1889. Serial No. 308,900. Term oipetent 14 years.

Ornamentation of Buttons to be Used for Gloves or Similar Articles, of which-Hie fol lowing is a specification.

My design, which is illustrated in the accom panying drawing, consists of a distinguishing background,which in the case of a metal button may be formed by roughening the metal, and in other buttons by any surface eifect having a similar appearance. Upon this background is the distinguishing feature of my design, consisting of a series of curved bars forming an open five-pointed star, each point of said star being of an elliptical shape. This star is inclosed by a circular boundaryline, shown in the drawing as acircularband, similar to that composing the outline of the star.

Referring to the drawing, the background is indicated by A, the five-pointed star by C, and the inclosingband by B,

A design for the surface ornamentation of 1111*")!18, substantially as herein shown and described, having for its main distinguishing feature a series of curved bars forming an open-pointed star, the said bars being upon a distinguishing background and the whole inelosed by a circular boundary.
