IMPROVED CLIP FCR HARNESS.
.The Schedule referred to Ain these Letters Patent and making prt of the same To all who-m it may concern Be it known that- I, CHARLES M. TnngP, of Pittsburg, in the. county ot Allegheny, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and'usefnl Improvement in Clips for Harness; V.and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description therevof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference. marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists 'in making a new article ot' u'ianufzwture, viz; a clip forf harness, constructed as hereinafter described. Y
To enable others `skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
In the accompanying drawings, which form part of my specificatiou- Figure l is a side view of my improvement in clips for harness.
Figure 2 represents `the hook of the single-troc ar-l rangfd in t-he spiral opening of the clip.
Figure 3 represents a single-tree with cli ps arranged on its hooks.
In the' accompanying drawings- A represents the clip, which maybe cast, or cut out; of sheet-metal, and is provided withV an opening, D, for the purpose of attaching it to the traces of the' harness. l
The clip is also prorided with a spiral opening, C, Vwhich terminates in a round or elliptical opening, B, `which is used for passing the clip over` the head or disk c of the hooks f of the single-tree X.
In attaching thevclips to the single-tree, the disk c of the hooks j' is passed through the opening B. The hook f is then placed `in the spiral opening G, which A will secure. the clip surely and safely to the single-tree without liability of becoming accidentally detached therefrom. i
The advantage of my improvement. in clips for harness consists in furnishing a cheap clip, which can, with ease and facility, be cast, so as to make it of malleable cast-iron, or it may be stamped or cut out. of sheet-metal. g
