To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, H. G. ALEXANDER, of the city', county, and State of New York. have invented anew and useful Improvementin Toy-Velooipedes; andI do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and-exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled inthe art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part otthisspecication, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved toyi velocipede, partly in section through the stand.

My invention has' for its object to furnish an im proved toy-velocipede; and

It consists in the construction and combination of the various parts of the toy, as hereinafter more fully described.

A is the bottom or foundation of the stand, which is mt de circular. 1 l

` B are the sides ofthe stand, which may be made'of tin cr other cheap and suitable material, and the lower edge of which is securely attached to the edge of the bottoni A.

Upon the upper edge of the sides B is formed, or to itis securely attached an inwardly-projecting flange, C, to serve as a ti'a'ck for the velocipede.

D is au ordinary clock-work, which is attached to the central part of the bottom A ot' the stand, and which should bep'rovided with a ily-wheel, E, to give steadiness to the movement of the machinery. i The central post d. is made hollow, and revolves upon a stationary post, F, the lower` end of which is securely attached to the frame of the clock-work, or to the bottom of the st'and. i. i

To the upper end of the post Fis attached the ceni 'tral part G of tbetop of the stand, so thatthe said top G may remain stationary, and thus relieve the clock-work from having to revolve the said top.

the clock-work D is attachedthe inner end ofthe arm H, which is so formed that its outer end may extend out through the slot between the outer edge otf the top G and the inner edge of the flange or track 0, without touching either of said parts.

To the outer end of the arm H is detachably attached the lower end ofthe standard I, the upper end of which is attached to the reach or frame ot' thewelocipede J.

The velocipede J is made similar to the ordinary velocipede, except that-the reach should'be slightly curved, to correspond with the curve of the track C.

K is the4 rider,'wl1 ich may be an ordinary doll, ,secured to the velocipede J, and provided with jointed legs, the. feet ot whichrest upon and are secured to the cranks of the drive-wheel of said velocipede.

By this construction, when the spring of the clockwork has. been `wound up, the velocipede and rider will Abe carried around the track with all the movements of the real velocpedist.

The top G may be painted and sanded to represent a circular grass-plat, and the ange or track C may be painted and sanded, to representa circular grav- Y elled walk around it.

'The top G may also be embellished with a dag-stati` and tiag, if desired.

Having thus described my invention,

I ,claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The improved velocipede-toy, each of' its partsbeing constructed and arranged with respect to the others, in the manner specified.
