To all whom it may concern:

Be it knownthat I, GODFRIED L. IIAGEN l-li'fiizonn, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Hammock for- Douche and Similar Baths, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to hammocks for douche and similar baths. r I The object of the invention is to provide means for so positioning and supporting the body, legs and head of a person that the body should be inclined with the head lowermost in order to enable the bath to be more readily and effectively taken.

Fig. 4C is a side elevation of the same, and Fig. 5 is a sectional end elevation of the tub and hammocln As shown in the drawings the hammock I comprises two end bands or straps A and B made of webbing, or any other suitable flexible material and made water-proof if desired. These straps may be constructed to be lengthened or shortened by any well known means and are provided at each end with a hook D. These hooks are adapted to engage the upper edge E of the bath tub F or any other su table'support and each consists of a metal plate bent at one end to form a hook and provided at its other end with a plurality of parallel slots G through which the end bandsare adapted to pass. The bands may be threaded in and out through the slots or secured to the hooks in any preferred manner, and by selecting the proper slots the relative heights of the bands A and B may be varied. The hooks of each pair arepreferably of the same length and the end or crossing straps are so positioned that one shall be higher than the other so that when a persons body is in a recumbent osition on the hammock the head will be owermost and the legs up'permost.

The end bands A and B are connected by a series of longitudinally extending straps or bands C which are made of the same material as the bands A and B and arranged to be lengthened or shortened in any well known manner to retain the end bands the desired distance apart. The end band A, that is, the higher band, is provided with a pair of cap pieces H attached thereto and thebacks of theheels of the occupant of the hammock, andthe end band B, that is, the lower band, is provided with ahood or cap pant.

From the description above set forth it will beobserve'd that the hammock may be adjusted laterally and longitudinally to suit various requirements and adaptfithe hammock for use in various locations. The body of the person is so inclined that the baths'may be readily taken and the greatest benefit derived therefrom. It will also be combination with end supporting straps, of a plurality of straps connected at their ends to the end supporting straps and forming a hammock structure, said hammock structure being of a length to extend from the shoulders to'the buttocks of the person to be supported, the end supporting straps being of cumbent positionwith the head lowermost. 2.
