CONTACT OR VIBRATOR SCREW.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, IVILLIAM L. PAN- IKOFF, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Contact or Vibrator Screws; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the figures of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent, in

This invention relates to an improvement in contact or vibrator screws for electric work. Screws for these purposes are provided with platinum points, but as these points wear off it is necessary to remove them by drilling, and in this way the platinum is lost.
The object of this invention is to provide a vibrator or contact screw with a removable point; and the invention consists in the construction hereinafter described and particularly recited in the claim.
In carrying out my invention I employ a screw 2 of usual construction having the usual knurled head 8. This screw I form Specification of Letters Patent.

with a longitudinal passage 4 threaded from the head inwardly to a point near the end of the screw as shown in Fig. 3 and provide a threaded plug 5 adapted to enter this passage and be turned into it, theplug being formed with a nick 6 for the engagement of a screw driver. Mounted in this plug is a platinum pin 7 which projects beyond the end of the screw and provides the contact point. As this point wears off the plug 5 is turned into the screw so as to project the end of the pin beyond the inner end of the screw, and this may be continued until the platinum pin is practically exhausted. Vith this construction I not only provide a very long platinum pin, but enable the point to be adjusted without changing the main screw; and thus am enabled to make a very fine adjustment of the platinum point.
It will be apparent that the pin and plug may be made integral.
I claim:
A vibrator or contact screw comprising a screw shank formed with a longitudinally threaded passage, a screw threaded plug adapted to be entered into said passage, and a pin carried by said plug and adapted to be projected beyond the end of the screw.
