The bed-frame D comprises a front section 12; a rear section 13; and an intermediate section 14. The section 12 normally depends, when the structure is in the sofa form, beneath the seat-frame, being rigidly attached thereto. Said section comprises end members 15 which are preferably of angle-bar form. The end members 16 of the seat-frame 5 have downturned extension-s 17 to which the'members 15 are se-. cured. An angle-bar truss-member 18 is secured to the rear lower corner of the seatframe and has at its extremities depending arms 19 connected with the extremities of the members-'15. The front ends of the downward extensions 17 are connected by braces with the main portion of the seats frame 5.

The operation will-be readily understood from the foregoing description. The bed is made up while the structure is in the open position shown in Fig. 1, and the structure is then converted to sofa form by swinging the seat rearwardly to the position shown in Fig. 2. When the seat is swung to the folded osition, the front bed-section, which is rigi ly attached to the seat, is carried to the depending osition shown in Fig. 2, and the truss 23 of the intermediate section is carried off the bearing afforded by the upper edge of the front connecting member 2 of the main frame, and the rear bedsectlon 1s swung rearwardly and downwardly, 1nwh1ch movement it is carried by the links '33 whose upper ends slidably engage the end members of the rear bedframe section and the links 32 which connect the llIlkS 30 with the arms 35 carried by the front extremities of the end members Any suitable means (not shown) free ends areprovided with channels, or 1 of the rear bed-section.
