To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, ALEXANDER HARLAND VANNAUKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hazleton, in the county of Luzerne and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Dynamite-Heater, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to dynamitev heaters and has'for its object to provide a comparatively simple and inexpensive device of this character in which the heating chamber is maintained at a uniform tem erature thereby to prevent over-heating o the dynamite, or other explosive.v 1
A further object of the invention is to prov ide a heater in which the lamp or other heating medium is protected from drafts so as to revent the flame from being extinguished.
A further object is to provide improved means for locking the lamp within the heating chamber, and means for ventilating the latter.
A still further obj ect of the invention is generallyto improve this class of devices so as to increase their utility, durability and efliciency.
Further objects and advantages will appear in the folowing description, it being understood that various changes in form, proportions and minor details of construction may be resorted to within the scope of the ap ended claim.

The improved heater forming the subject matter of the present inventioncomprises a casing 5 preferably cylindrical in shape, as shown, and provided with a conical extension 6 terminating in a depending flange 7, the walls of the flange being extendedlaterally to form an annular reinforcing bead 8.
Disposed within the casing 5 above the combustion chamber 9 is a boiler 10 and arranged within the boiler is a substantially cylindrical receptacle 11 adapted to receive the dynamite to be heated.
lExtending of the boiler 10 is an annular iiange 12 preferablyL shaped in cross section and adapted to form a closure for the upper portion of the heating chamber 9, there being a similar Harige/18 extending laterally from the exterior walls of the receptacle 11 and constituting afclosure for the upper end ofthe boiler.
The flanges 12 and 13 are provided with oppositely disposed bayonet slots 14 which engage suitable locking pins or lugs 15 secured to the exterior walls of the casing and boiler, respectively, thereby to lockv the boiler andf dynamite receptacle within the casing.

Arranged within the heating chamber 9 is a conical shaped receptacle or reservoir 19 adapted to contain coal oil or other fuel, which latter is supplied to the wick 20 for heating the boiler 1G.
The adjacent walls of the reservoir 19 are extended to form a de ending flange 20 the marginal edge of whic is bent laterally to form an annular reinforcing bead 21 adapted to bear against the reinforcing bead 8 of the flange 7 thereby to limit the upward movement of the receptacle 19.
Extending inwardly from the interior walls of the flange 7 is an annular rib 22 provided on its upper face with a flat shoulder for engagement with spring locking members 24 carried by the reservoir 19.
