IIWPROVEMENT IN LAMP-LIGHT EXTINGUISHER.

i' Be it known that I, J. M. AUBREY, of Portage City,

in the county of Columbia, in the State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and useful Apparatus for Extinguishin g Lights of Lamps that are used with chimneys, (such as kerosene-lamps g) and I do declare i that the followingis a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon. i

The nature of my invention consists in providing the top of lamp-chimneys, with an extension to catch the air which is conveyed against t,'and forcing it down the chimney to the light. Y

To enable others to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.

It is made of any metal, or anything that will not fuse over a chimney; it is one inch high, and reaches one-third of the way around the top of the chimney; it is fastened to the chimney by three or more extensions, a a a.

The operation is to blow, or force air against the apparatns, which sends it (the air) down the chimney, extinguishing the light.
