To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM C. H. PFEIL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Curtain-Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to an improved cur tain fixture, and the object of the invention is to produce an adjustable fixture that will carry both a shade roller and a curtain pole.

The invention also relates to certain de tails of construction all of which will be fully and clearly hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which,-

In referring to the drawings in detail like numerals designate like parts.

The device consists of three members, a clamp member which is attached to the frame, an angular shade roller supporting member which is slidably mounted in the clamp member and a curtain pole supporting member which is slidably mounted in the angular member.

Two of the devices are preferably employed one being located at each upper-corner of the window frame, and as the devices are identical with the exception that one has a slot and the other an opening to receive the small projecting ends of the shade roller, a description of one will suflice for both.

The clamp member has a middle portion 1 which is provided with elongated openings 2 and two end portions 3 extending at about a right angle from the middle portion. The openings 2 are enlarged at one end to admit the heads of screws 4 secured in the window frame 5 so that the clamp member can be guickly and easily secured to the frame by tting the middle ortion over the screws so that the heads of t e screws project through the enlarged ends of the openings 2 and then moving the clamp member to shift the screws into the smaller portions of the openings. The screws are then tightened to fasten the clamp member securely to the window frame. The end portions 3 of the clamp member project outward from the middle portion and are bent near their outer extremities to form grooves or slideways 6.

The angular shade roller supporting member has a comparatively long flat longitudinal portion 7 which is slidably mounted in the slldeways 6 of the clamp member and is secured at any desired point of its adjustment by a lock screw 8 which passes through the end portions 3 of the clamp member and is adapted to draw the end portions 3 toward each other and thus grip and clamp the portion 7 of the angular member between the %aid end portions, substantially as shown in A11 outwardly extending transverse portion 9 projects at a right angle from one end of the portion 7 and has a [-like portion at its outer end which is composed of two longitudinal parts 10 and 11 connected by a transverse part 12. Openings are formed in the longitudinal parts 10 and 11 in which the curtain pole supporting member 13 is slidably mounted.

The curtain pole supporting member is preferably formed of wire of suitable size and has a curved portion 14 in which the curtain pole 15 is adapted to rest as shown in Fig. 2 of the drawings. The curtain pole supporting member is locked in its adjusted position by a thumb screw 16. The adjustment of the angular shade roller supporting members of the fixtures is longitudinally toward or from each other to enable the shade roller 17 to be properly supported between them.

The transverse portion 9 of the angular member of one of the two fixtures is provided with the usual slot 18 while the portion 9 of the other fixture has the usual opening 19 to receive the shade roller 17.

The adjustment of the curtain pole supporting member is transverse and at right angles to the adjustment of the angular member and the purpose of its adjustment is to enable the curtain pole to be supported at any desired distance from the window frame within the limit of its adjustment.

The main advantages of this improved fixture reside in its simplicity, cheapness and strength, its adjustability and the fact that With but few parts it provides a support for 5 both the shade roller and the curtain pole.

I claim as my invention- A device of the class described, composed of a clamp member having two opposed clamping portions, a shade roller supporting 10 member slidably mounted between the clamping portions of the clamp member and having a C-like portion and a curtain pole supporting member adjustably mounted in openings in the 1ike portion of the shade roller supporting member.
