To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, JOHN ALEXANDER Mo- COLEMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Curtisville, in the county of Alcona and tate of Michigan, have invented new and useful Improvements in Nose-Bags, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to feed bag supports and one of the principal objects of the same is to provide simple and efiicient means for supporting a feed bag from the harness of an animal in position to permit the animal to feed and in which the entire device may be folded in a small compass for storage in the vehicle when not in use.

Another object of the invention is to provide a feed bag support which can be readily supported from the terrets or rein rin s in position for use and which will be made of pivoted parts which can be readily folded when not required for use.

These and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a feed bag support made in accordance with my invention and connected to the harness in position for use. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same detached from the harness. Fig. 3 is a side view of the same when folded and in position for storage in the vehicle when not required for use.

Referring to the drawing for a more specific description of my invention, the numeral 1 designates a feed bag which may be of the usual or any preferred construction, said feed bag having. at its upper edge or mouth a metal band or hoop 2. Connected to the hoop 2 at suitable points are hooks 3.

The supporting device for the feed bag comprises the arms 4, each having at its front end an eye 5 designed for connection with the hooks 3 on the feed bag. The arms 4 are each provided with a series of openings or eyes 6 which extend horizontally through the arm 4. A pair of eyes 7 extend vertically through the arms 4 and a cross bar 8 is detachably connected to one of said eyes and pivoted in the other eye. Pivotally connected to the arms 4 at 9 are the supporting hooks 10, the upper ends of which are provided with hooks 11 designed to engage terrets rings 12 of the harness. Pivoted latches 13 are connected to the supporting hooks 10 by a pivotal joint 14, the opposite ends of said latches being bent at right angles to form hooks 15, designed to engage any of the eyes 6 depending upon the angle at which the bag is to be supported. A cross bar 16 is connected to the supporting hooks 10, said cross bar being pivoted at 17 and provided with an angularly bent end 18 'to engage the eye 19 on one of the supporting hooks 10.

The manner of connecting the feed bag to the harness is clearly shown in Fig. 1 and needs no further description. When the device is to be folded to the position shown in Fig. 3, the cross bars 8 and 16' are disconnected at one end and swung into line with the arms 4, the latches 13 are also detached from the arms 4 and swung into line with said arms while the hooks 10 are disconnected from the terrets 12 and swung down into line with the arms 4, as shown in Fig. 3.

From the foregoing it will be obvious that a feed bag support made in accordance with my invention is of simple construction, can

.be readily attached to the harness of a horse and supported in any desired position for use and that the su porting frame and bag can be readily folde to occupy but a small space for storage in the vehicle when not required for use.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is

1. A folding feed bag support comprising forwardly extending arms, a feed bag supported upon said arms, cross bars pivoted to one of said arms and connected to the other arm, supporting hooks pivoted to the arms and adapted to engage the terrets, and latches ivoted to the supporting hooks and detacha ly connected to said arms.
