Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented March 3, 1908.
Application filed November 22. 1907. Serial No. 403356.
T o all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT E. FIELDS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Gordon, in the county of Sheridan and State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Brushes; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to lmake and use the same.
This invention relates to brushes for applying medicated solutions to live stock for the purpose of treating their skin diseases; and it consists in the novel construction and combination of the parts hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure l is a plan view of the brush. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through the back of the brush.
A is a hand brush of any approved construction provided with bristles l) of any a proved material. rIwo holes, or more tian two holes, O are formed through the back oi the brush, and I) are pipes inserted in the said holes. These pipes are provided with junction pieces d and e, the junction piece d being a quarter bend and the junction piece c a T-piece.
E is a short pipe which connects the quarter bend with the T-'piece, and F is a supply pipe connected to the T-piece. The medicament is placed in any suitable vessel and the vessel is connected to the supply pipe F by a flexible pipe, not shown in the drawings.
The junction pieces d and e are let into recesses d" and e which are countersunk in the back of the brush, G are perforated caps which are screwed on the projecting loosely in the said hole, a junction-piece secured to one end portion of the said pipe and engaging with the said recess, and a removable fastening cap provided with small perforations in its sides and end and screwed on the other end portion of the said pipe be-y tween the bristles of the brush.
2. The combination, with a brush provided with holes in its back having countersunk recesses, of removable pipes inserted loosely in the said holes, junction-pieces secured to the said pipes at one end and engaging with the said recesses, supply pipes connected to the said junction-pieces, and removable fastening caps provided with small perforations in their sides and ends and screwed on the other end portions of the said removable pipes between the bristles of the brush.
