In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the truss applied to a person represented in dotted lines. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a detail.

Similar numerals of reference indicate the same parts on all the figures.

The rectum supporter proper, indicated by the numeral 1, is made preferably of hard rubber, approximately of hemi spherical form and attached to suitable retaining straps as shown. The strap 2 extends rearwardly from the supporter 1 and up the back a short distance where it is attached to an eye 3. The back strap 4 is in this instance made of two straps 5 and 6 fastened together at their lower ends and to a hook 7 with which the eye 3 engages. The back straps 5 and 6 gradually spread apart as they extend up the back until at the point of actual separation the two straps are connected together by a cross brace S sewed or otherwise fastened to each strap. From the brace 8 the straps 5 and 6 are designed to pass over the shoulders and under the arms of the wearer to the back once more where each strap is fastened to a buckle 9 on a short strap 10 stitched to the back strap 4 near its lower end. By means of the buckles 9 the straps 5 and 6 can be adjusted to fit a person of anysize and tightened to any degree to form shoulder braces.

Reaching forwardly from the supporter 1 are two straps 11 and 12 which are to pass between the legs of a person wearing the truss and then separate, one strap 11 being carried around the front side of the upper part of the right thigh and then across the lower back through a loop 13 on the back strap 4 to the left side where it is fastened to a buckle 14 on the strap 12 which lies across the left thigh in a position corresponding to the strap 11 on the right thigh. The adjustment of these straps will cause the sup porter 1 to press more or less firmly against the rectum. All the straps will be made of a soft flexible material such as webbing which may be placed next the skin without rubbing i or chafing' The parts most liable to irritation by the straps are the inner sides of the thighs where the straps 11 and 12 pass. To obviate this each strap 11 and 12 is incased in a sheath 15 of very soft material. such as plush, velvet, felt, chamois skin or the like. The sheath 15 is made in the form of a sheet and wrapped around the strap and fastened by buttons as shown, by lacing, or by safety pins.

For the purpose of cleanliness the supporter 1 is covered by a soft cap or cover 16 provided with strings 17 for fastening it in place. The folds 15 and the cap 16 are made removable so that they can be taken off the truss and washed.

The truss is worn in the manner illustrated, the adjustments when once made need not be changed. The hook 7 and eye 3 enable the supporter to be easily and quickly removed when necessary and as easily restored in place. By carrying the straps over the shoulders the strain and downward pressure is removed from the hips and waist, the straps also serve as a shoulder brace.

A truss of the character described comprising a supporter, a strap connected to said supporter and adapted to pass up the back then divide to pass over each shoulder and under the arms of the wearer and adjustably connected to side straps connected to the back strap, other straps attached to the supporter and pass forwardly around the thighs, one of said straps passing through a loop on the back strap and adjustably attached to the other.

A truss of the character described comprising a dome shaped rectum supporter, a strap passing rearwardly therefrom up the back and dividing, the two parts pass over the shouldersand under the arms to the back, two straps reaching forward from said rectum supporter and over the thighs to the back strap, and a close fitting removable cover for the rectum supporter fastened by strings thereon tied beneath the attached straps.

A truss of the character described comprising a rectum supporter, a rear strap and two front straps therefor, back and shoulder straps attached to the rear strap of the supporter by a separable connection, said front straps arranged to pass between and around the thighs and connected together by a buckle on one side, one of said front straps supported in a loop on the back strap, and a removable sheath on each front strap where it passes beneath the perineum.

A truss of the character described comprising a dome shaped rectum supporter, a rear strap and two front straps connected thereto, said rear strap removably attached to the back strap supported by the shoulders, the front strap passing around the thighs and slidable in a loop on the back strap, a close fitting removable cover for the rectum support, and removable sheaths applied to the front straps between the thighs.

6. A truss of the character described comprising a dome shaped rectum supporter,

rear and front straps attached thereto for holding said supporter in position and a removable sheath infolding each front strap Where it passes between the legs.
