Be it known that I, JOSEPH BRYERS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Combination Medicine-Measure and Corkscrew, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a combined medicine measure and cork screw.

The object of my invention is to provide a medicine measure having the form of the measuring glass or graduate and equip the same with a cork screw arranged in the stem thereof.

A further object of my invention is to pro vide a device as mentioned having a foldingstand or base.

A further object of my invention is to pro vide means for retaining the cork screw within the stem except when desired for use.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

My invention will be more readily understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification and in which, 4

Referring to the drawings, 1 indicates a graduated measure for medicines or other fluids. This is preferably conical and is provided with a stem, 2 which is preferably cylindrical and which is provided with a re cess, 3, within which is pivotally mounted as at 4, a cork screw, 5. WVhen the cork screw is not in use, it lies within the recess, 3 but when it is desired to use the same it may be readily turned into the position shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2.

The measure proper may be formed of metal and the graduations indicated thereon by a series of indentations 10. However, if preferred this portion of the device may be formed of glass having the usual etched graduations. To this end, the upper portion of the stem is formed with a conical recess, 11, to receive the lower end, 12 of the glass graduate, 13. The graduate is cemented in the socket 11 but to more securely fasten it therein, I provide the lower end of the graduate with an annular groove, 14 which is engaged by a rim or bead, 15 on the socket portion, 11.

Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: e

1. A graduate having a stem and a base, in combination with a cork screw pivotally connected thereto and adapted to swing into position parallel with. said stem and a member rotatably mounted on said stem for holding said cork screw in parallel position therewith, substantially as described.

2. A graduate having a stem and a base, said stem having a longitudinal recess, a cork screw pivota-lly mounted in said recess and an apertured sleeve loosely mounted on said stem and adapted in one position to open said recess and in another to close the same, substantially as described.

3. A graduate having a stem and a base pivotally connected to said stem, in combination with a cork screw pivotally connected thereto, said base having a radial recess to receive said stem when the cork screw is eX tended for use, substantially as described.
