IMPROVEMENT iN FENCE-POST.`

To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, EZEKIEL S. GooDRIcH, of Oakland, of the county of Jefferson, in the State -of Wisoonsin, have invented a new and improved Fence-Post and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in whichf- Figure 1 represents a side elevation of my improved fence-post.

Similar letters of reference indicate like parts in the several figures.

The nature of my invention consists in constructinga fence-post, by setting a post of wood on a stone base, and support-ing it in an upright position with wire and wooden braces.

To enable others to use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction.

I take a stone, A, of any convenient size to be had,

all that is necessary being that it has a base sufficiently broad to support the post firmly. On tbissto'ne I set a wooden post, B, in an upright position, Where it is held by'the wire, O, passed through ahole, a, near the top of the post and underv the bottom of the stone, the ends of the wire being fastened together and drawn tightly, as shown at l1, fig. 1.

The bottom of the'post yis held in its position bya base-brace of wood, D, placed between-the wire and the foot of the post on each side, as shown Vin the drawing.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, s- .A The combination of the stone base A, wooden post .B, Wire base C, and wooden base-braces D, as herein described, for the purpose speciiied.
