The invention is particularly applicable t o a front-stroke machine hr1-'ving a vertically disposed type ber segment und type 1e -bsrs which lie with their heads toward t front of the machine.

For effective protection it is not necessary that the space between the contiguous edges of these two dust sheds should be mede so smell esto merely permit the passage of the yerioustype bers. They may,4 in feet, be toward the iront as the designer of the machine desires without inipeiring their eiiiciency.
