This invention relates to turpentine gath ering, and has for an object to provide an apron proportioned for insertion in an incision in a tree and embodying new and improved supporting members, and is a division of pending application Serial Number 378203, filed June 10, 1907.
A further object of the invention is to provide in an apron for turpentine gathering a substantially plain apron body having a wire rolled into the lower longitudinal edge and with its opposite extremities extending as supporting members beyond the opposite ends of the apron. a
With these and other objects in view, the invention comprises certain novel constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts, as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.
The drawing is a perspective view of a specific embodiment oi the improved apron and comprises a plain body portion 1 withor without a curved upper edge 2, and also with or without upstandlng flanges 3 which, in the specific embodiment shown, converge toward the lower lon 'tudinal'edge. It is to be understood that t e formation of the u per edge or the formation or position of t e anges does not limit the invention,
At the lower longitudinal edge the apron is provided with means as the roll 4 embracing a wire by which thesaid wire is secured longitudinally of the apron and with the opposite ends, as 5, extending in alinement beyond the opposite ends of the apron to produce thereby supporting studs upon which a receptacle of any approved form may be supelilided. I
'lo the embracing of the wire within the roll 4 is found to be a convenient and preferred manner, of employing the wire to produce the studs 5, it is not material to the present invention how the said wire is attached to the lower longitudinal edge of the apron, the invention residing in so securing the wire to the apron that the opposite ends of the said wire extend in substantial alinement beyond the opposite ends of the apron.
What I claim is 1. In a device of the class described, a substantially plain apron, and a wire secured along one edge of the a aron and with its opposite ends extending ends of the said'apron.
2. In a device of the class described, a substantially plain apron, and a wire secured along the lower longitudinal edge of and extending at its opposite ends'beyond the ends of the apron.
3. In a device of the class described, a substantially plain apron provided with a roll at its lower longitudinal edge, and a wire embraced by the roll and having its opposite ends formed to serve as a support for a receptacle.
4. In a device of the class described, a substantially plain apron provided with a-roll along its lower longitudinal edge, and a wire embraced within the roll and having its opposite ends extending beyond the opposite ends of the apron.
5. In a device of the class described, an apron provided with a roll at one edge, and with a wire embraced within the roll and havin its 0 posite ends extended beyond the r0 1 and ormed to serve as supporting members for a receptacle.
6. In a device of the class described, an apron provided with a roll, a substantially straight wire embraced by the roll and having its ophposite ends extending in alinement beyond t e opposite ends of the roll...
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
EDWIN A. MoKOY.
