Be it known that l, JOHN FIELDING, a subjectof the King otGreat Britain, residing at Gloucester, England, engineer, have inventedV new and useful Improvements in Suction Gas-Generators.
The invention relates to an 'improved means for generating and automatically regulating the amount of steam which it is found advantageous to employ in the working gas generators which work bysuction.
Accordin to my invention air together with a regu ated amount of Water is caused to pass radially through a heated hollow circular plate upon which the incandescent fuel rests, in such a manner that the air, together with the steam, passes'into the fuel regularly and uniformly all around the base of the fire. The air, together with water in a4 sprayed condition, enters through a eentral passage from which they spread radially in a thin stream which is interrupted and diverted by a number of heated bars lor iins presenting a large amount oi heating suror it may be so arranged that it can be `rochargc of the ash and clinker.
Automatic regulation of the quantity of water for conversion into steam is effected in the following manner. When the engine amount of water may be used in the producer, but at light or no load it is preferable to proportionately diminish the supply of water or`cut it ofi' altogether.
