IMPROVEMENT IN WAIST-IBELTS.

The nature and object of my invention consist in constructing a supporter ofA metal for waistbands, or belts of cloth or other material, so as toprevent them from wrinkling, yor rolling, or presenting other than an even and smooth appearance, and in interposing an elastic or iexible section at the back, so thatthe metallic portionwill conform to the body without 'discomfort to the wearer, eitherin stooping or sitting. n To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my supporter, I will describe its construction and operation.

I make 'the metallic portion, a, of a width lto corto wear or use a ribbon, cloth, or other belt, over the metal.

I usually make the sections a from sheet-zinc, but sheet-brass and other metals can be made to answer the purpose. The edges are lturned in, so that the supporter ill not cut or injure the other clothing, and in turning the edges in for extra articles, I turn them over a piece of cloth or felt, so as to give them an interior lining. These sections a are made alike, except that, at the front ends, one is provided with hooks, d, and the other with holes, e. They are connected together at the back by an elastic or `ilexible piece, b, which is cut about threeinches long,.`and of the same width as the sections '1e-,fand riveted, or otherwise fastened in, as shown at figs. 2 and 3, thus making an easy, flexible, and comfortable metallic supporter for any ordinarybelt or band.
