To all whom, it may concern:

Be it known that I, THOMAS G. WVrLsoN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Center Hall, in the county of Center and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and usei'ul Combined Curtain-Pole and Shade Support, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to means for supporting window-shades and curtain-poles; and the principal object is to provide a novel and exceedingly simple article of manufacture which can be readily 'made, easily applied to a window-casing, and will constitute an ellicient support for both a pole and shaderoller.

Referring to the accompanying drawings, Figures 1 and 2 illustrate in side elevation a pair of the supports. Fig. 3 is a detail view of the eye of one of the devices.

Similar reference-numerals designate corresponding parts in all the figures of the drawings.

The two supports illustrated each comprises a pair of parallel shanks 4 and 5, arranged one below the other. The upper shank 4 has its inner end threaded and tapered, as shown at 6, so that it may be readily screwed into a window-casing. Its outer portion is provided with a pair of spaced upstanding doubled fingers 7 and 8, the inner finger being shorter than the outer finger and said fingers being connected by a downwardly-curved portion 9, the whole thus forming a pole-receiving socket. The outer arm 10 of the outer finger has a portion 11 arranged beneath the curved portion 9, and directly beneath the finger 7 is a depending portion 12, that joins to the outer end of the lower arm 5. The lower shank 5 has a depending inner terminal 13 provided with an eye 14, arranged to receive a screw or other fastener 15. The shank 5 is provided between its ends with a depending loop, one of the brackets having an open loop 16, as shown in Fig. 1, the other being provided with a closed loop 16 as shown in Fig. 2.

Inasmuch as the threaded terminals 6 of the upper shanks l project beyond the vertical planes of the eyes 14, it will be apparent that the devices may be first readily threaded into the casing until the eyes 14 and depend ing portions 13 abut thereagainst, after which the iasteners 15 are passed through said eyes into the casing. The result is a rigid structure in which the curtain-pole is located well above and outside the shaderoller, while at the same time, because of the peculiar configuration of the structure, sul'licient space is provided between the upper and lower arms to permit the ready introduction and removal of theshade-roller. Moreover, this structure can be readily constructed, as will be apparent, and, as already indicated, may be easily applied.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A combined curtain-pole and shade support formed from a single wire and comprising an upper outstanding shank having spaced upstanding doubled fingers on its outer portion projecting above the plane of the same and having. a curved portion between them, iorming a pole-receiving socket, the outer finger being longer than the inner finger and having an outer arm curved against and extending below the curved portion, said arm having a depending terminal directly below the inner finger, and a lower shank disposed in parallel relation with the upper shank and having its outer end joined to the lower endof the depending terminal of said arm, said lower shank having a depend ing roller-holding loop disposed substantially midway between the ends of the lower shank and also having an offset eye at its in ner end, the upper shank having a threaded inner terminal located above and projecting beyond the vertical plane of the eye.
