STEAM-GENERATOR- No. 844,1 s.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed December 18, 1906. Serial No. 348.435.
Patented Feb. 12, 1907.
To all whom it may concern;
Be it known that I, CARLLUCKE, subject of the Emperor of Austria, residing at- Eilenburg, near Leipzig, Germany, have invented 5 new and useful Improvements in Steam-Gem erator Without WaterSpace, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a steam-generator without water-space with outlet for the IQ water in the evaporator and provided with a device for bailing the water out of the outletplpe.
This invention is set forth in the following specification and claims and illustrated in the i annexed drawings, in which Figure 1 is a longitudinal section of a steam-generator in connection with a bailing device in form of a plug. Fig. 2 shows the construction of Fig. 1 in cross-section. Fig.
'29 3 is a longitudinal-section through a bailing or emptying device with double piston. Fig. 4
is a section of a modificationwith two cocks. The drawings show a steam-generator in form of-a cylindrical reservoir A, which is in communication with feed-pipe B at one side or end and with outlet-pipe C at the other. The feed-pipe extends along in the evaporator through its length, and such pipe is provided with a row of discharge openings or 0 jets for the water. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the bailin orempt 'ng device the outlet-pipe D, leading from t e bottom of the evaporator, is in communication with the housingE of a rotary plug F,
3 5 which by means of a rod G is kept in contmuous rotary-motion b any source of power. This plug is provide with a bailing-space H which through the rotary or actuating motion of rod Galternately communicates with the outlet-pipe D and with the outlet-pipe I. So long as the bottom'ofthe evaporator is free from water the bailing-space H 'of the plug F is filled with steam, which in turn passes out throu h ipe I. "Likewise ac- 'cumulated water is so at once carried off through in ct through the bailing-space H to'the pipe I. The plug F is so small that its bailing-space suiliccs to carry off the accumulating water or water mass. The quantity of the wasted steam carried oil, however, is so small that the efliciency of the steam-generator is but slightly affected.
1n the modification of the bailing device as shown in Fig. 3 two pistons K and L are secured to the rod M, and as the pistons are 5; actuated the mouth of the outlet-pipe D is alternately closed or opened. By the opening of the mouth of the outlet the water is allowed to enter between the two pistons, and such water is then on the return stroke carried to the outlet-pipe I.
In the modification Fig. 4 are shown two cocks K and L, which are actuated by actuating-rod M. The water coming from pipe D passes through cocks K to the space he tween the cooks, and as the cooks are turned forty-five degrees (45) the cock K closes and cook L o ens, and the water passes ofl' I claim 79 1. A steam-generator comprising an evapcrating-chamber combined with a dischargetube for the water deposited in such evapo rating-chamber, and a continuously-actuated discharge-valve made to alternately communicate with the discharge-tube and with the open air. Y p 2. A steam-generator comprising an evaporating-chamber combined with a dischargetube for the water depositedin such evapo- 3O ratingmhamber, and a continuously-actu- I ated twoiston valve made tocommunicate' with the ischarge-tube. In testimony whereof'I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two'subscribing 5 witnesses.
