Referring to the drawings, my invention comprises two hinged members 1 and l" of any desired shape or design, thcy being shown as rectangular in the prcscnt instance. The member 1 is provided along its hinged edge with a longitudiholly-extending plate 2, which is spaced from the outer edge of'the member and produces a tobacco-compartmen! It. The particular design shown is intended for cigar.- onrl for home use, and it is evident that with this cons rum ion n number I of cigars may be placed on their cml WHllHl the compartment 3', in convenient position for writ lu rawal when desired. The member I. is provided near one end with a transverse stnI'ip 4 ,constituting between such strip and the a acentend of said member a receptacle or com artment for live matches. On the other si e of the transverse strip 4 two trays (designated 5 and 6, respectively) are detachably fitted within the memher I", the tray5 being intended for burned matches and the tray 6 for ashes, and the latter is preferably provided with a transverse wire 7, which may be used to scrape the ashes from the cigar. A cover 8 is provided for the hinged member 1 and is designed to fit within the margin thereof snugly, so as to separate the receptacles or compartments for matches and ashes from the compartment .for tobacco. The cover 8 is hinged along one edge, so that it may be turned up out of the 'membcr l to expose the interior of the lat ter and back against the member 1, as illustrated in the drawings, and on the under face of said cover is a strip of abrasive material 9, which may be conveniently utilized to ignite matches. A spring-catch 10 is preferably rovidcd, that secures the two hinged morn- JCIS together, and a similar catch 11 may be used to secure the cover 8 down within the member 1; but even without the catch 11 it is manifest that the plate 2, as will be seen particularly by reference to Fig. 3, will hold the cover 8 down within the member 1- when plate will assist in maintaining the cover 8 in closed position.

From the foregoing description, in connection with the accmnpanying dmwin s, it will be seen that t have provided ahanrly miele for smokers use, which is provided with all the necessary receptacles or compartments for the various requisite articles and which can bc cheaply manufactured and of cornparativclv few and simple parts. By supporting the trays detachably in the member 1 they may be removed whenever desired and cleaned.
