To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ALBERT BARTH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pawpaw, in the county of Lee and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sheep-Shearing Tables, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to sheep-shearing tables; and the object is to provide a table which is so arranged that an upper platform or table is revolubly mounted upon a stationary table and when a sheep is placed upon said upper table the operation of shearing the sheep can be easily and. quickly accomplished.

A further object of the invention is to provide means whereby the head of the sheep can be secured to the upper table when placed thereupon, thus holding the sheep perfectly quiet and obviating the necesity of holding the sheep manually during the operation of the shearing.

With the above and various other objects in view the invention consists of the novel construction and arrangement of parts which will now be more fully described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of my improved sheep-shearing table. Fig. 2 is a cross-section taken on line 2 2 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a bottom view of the revolving table.

The stationary table (indicated by the nu- I meral 1) is provided with a top 2 and standards or legs 3, side braces 4, and end braces 5. A brace 6 is secured underneath the side braces 4. This brace is provided intermediate thereof with an aperture 7, through which is adapted to pass the lower end of the pivot bolt 8. Near the lower end of this bolt is a shoulder 9, which rests upon the brace 6 and is secured thereto by means of a bur 10. The upper end of bolt 8 extends through an opening 9 in the top 2.

A series of caster-wheels 11, preferably four in number, are rigidly secured within a given radius to the top 2. Upon these casterwheels will rest the bearing-plate 12 of the revolving table 13. The top 14 of the revolving table is substantially in the form as shown in Fig. 3, and on the front end thereof is provided with the apertures 15, in which are secured straps for fastening the head of a sheep securely to the table 14. On either side of table 14 are braces 16, to which are secured the braces 17. A brace 18 is placed between the braces 17 and secured to the table 14. This brace is provided with bearing 19, which engages the upper end of the pivotbolt 8. To the under side of the braces 17 is securedbearing-plate 12, which is provided intermediate thereof with the aperture 20. Thus when the revolving table 13 is in position upon the stationary table 1 the pivotbolt 8 will extend through aperture 20 in the bearing-plate 12 and engage the bearing 19 in the brace 18. The under surface of bearing-plate12 will rest upon the casterwheels 11, thus allowing the table13 to revolve upon the stationary table 1.

It will be apparent that when a sheep is fastened on the table it is in easy. position and convenient for the shearer and the table turned to suit the convenience of the shearer. The fleece is not liable to be cut or torn and the operation of shearing sheep accomplished with greater ease and greater facility than by the methods heretofore employed.

Slight changes can of course be made in the general form and arrangement of the several parts herein described without departing from the spirit and scope .of my invention. Hence I do not wish to be limited to the we act construction herein set forth.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A sheep-shearing table, comprising a stationary table and the revolving table rotatably mounted thereon, caster-wheels rigidly secured on the top of the stationary table, a

bearing-plate underneath the revolving table and resting on said caster-wheels, a pivot-bolt rigidly secured to the stationary table, an aperture intermediate of the bearing-plate through which said pivot-bolt passes, allowing the revolving table to rotate upon the stationary table, substantially-as described.
