BERTHA LOWRY GVVYNNE, OF SUMPTER, OREGON.
NURSI NGI-BOTTLE WARM ER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. '7, 1905.
Application filed July 26. 1904:. Serial No. 218,275n
To @ZZ whom, t may concern:
Be it known that I, BERTHA LowRY GWYNNE, a citizen of the United States, resid-A ing at Sumpter, in the county of Baker and State of Oregon, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Nursing-Bottle Warmers; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and eXact description of the invention, such as will enable others-skilled use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in a rubber hot-water bag adapted for use as a receptacle to receive and keep the contents of nursing-bottles warm; and it consists in the provision of a hot-water bag zo having a chambered portion adapted to receive a bottle and a door at one end whereby the chambered portion may be closed.
The invention consists, further, in various details of construction and combinations and Y z5 arrangements of parts, which will be hereinafter fully described and then specically defined in the appended claim.
l illustrate my invention in the accompany- Q ing drawings, which, with the letters of refer- 3o ence marked thereon, form a part of this application, and in which drawings similar letters of reference indicate like parts in the Views, n Which- Figure l is a central longitudinal section through my improved hot-water bag for holding bottles, and Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view through the device.
Reference now being had to the details of the ydrawings by letter, A designates a hot- 4o water bag having an outer wall B and an inner wall B, spaced apart and forming a space to contain hot water.
O designates a neck to the hot-water bag, having a metallic shoulder D and a threaded portion D', adapted to receive a threaded plug struction of water-bags.
bered portion H, which conforms, preferably, to the shape of an ordinary nursing-bottle, having one end H somewhat contracted, and K designates rubber strips, one positioned on each side of the wall of said chambered portion and provided for the purpose of holding the bottle in place. The bottom of said hotwater bag has a door N, hinged at N' to the bag and provided with a socket-plate O, designed to engage a snap-fastener O', which is fastened to the bottom of the bag, whereby said door may be held closed.
In order to retain the heat within the bottle adapted to be held in the chambered portion of the hot-water bag, a thick felt lining' R is placed upon the inner surface of thedoor and against which the bottle is adapted to rest, and the inner surface of the chambered portion may also be lined with any suitable' non-heat-conducting material, whereby the heat may be retained within the bag.
A suitable opening 4T is formed in the outer wall of the bag, whereby hot water may be inserted in the space between the walls.
By the provision of the device shown and described it will be observed that a simple and convenient means is provided for keeping the contents of a nursing-bottle warm by the surrounding hot Water, which is placed in the bag in the manner described.
While I have shown a particular detailed construction of device illustrating the features of my hot-water bag for holding nursing-bottles, it will be understood that I may vary the detailed construction of the apparatus, if desired, without in any way departing from the spirit of the invention.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A hot-water bag for holding nursing-bottles comprising a receptacle having an inner and outer wall, with a space intervening between the same for the reception of hot Water, a door hinged to the lower portion of the bag and adapted to c lose the space surrounded by the inner wall of the receptacle, the upper portion of the inner wall of the bag being contracted and outwardly flaring above the contracted part, a transverse partition at the base of said flaring portion of the in- IOO ner Wallfand against which thecork of a botl .In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my tle held Within the inclosure formed by' the signature in presence of two Witnesses.
inner Wall is adapted to Contact, said contracted part of the inner Wall designed to hold BERTHA LO WRY (IWYNNE' the neck of the bottle from movement against Witnesses: the inner surrounding Wall of the bag, as set T. G. GWYNNE, forth. FRED FONTAINE.
